Knitted Girls 'Berry' Hat

I have spent the last two evenings knitting this little 'Berry' Hat for my 6yr old grandaughter Mia.
I have picked back up my knitting hobby recently which is helping me relax and unwind on an evening.
I spend all day working on the computer designing digis so I really need to get off it on an evening  and do something else....so the knitting is helping me with my digital detox lol
This pattern is here http://randomstitches.files.wordpress.com/2008/01/baby-berry-hat.pdf if anyone wants to have a go.....fits baby to adult
Knitted in one piece on circular and double pointed needles

These are the needles I bought to make the hat....saw KnitPro recommended on a knitting forum.
These needles are so light and slick to work with I now need to replace my whole collection of knitting needles now as I love these!
I bought them from the Wool Stack.....they have a website and are on ebay....brilliant service!

Knitted Hat & Dinosaur

Something a bit different from me today.
I haven't done any knitting for about 6 years....since I took up card making actually :)
Well the other day I just got the urge and knit this little hat for my little Grandson Jack who will be 2yrs at Christmas.
As I was rummaging through my much loved patterns I found a toy book which had little knitted dinosaurs and thought I must make a dinosaur to match his hat
So here he is......a funny looking little thing......just hope Jack will like him :)

Halloween Spider Kit

Halloween Spiders Kit  just released at Pink Gem Designs  Here

I made these lovely little Halloween treat boxes with the kit this morning

Here is how I made them :)

Print out the milk carton template on an  A4  sheet of stiff paper/card
The stiffer the better so what ever your printer will take

As the template comes out of the printer flip it over and feed it back the same way and print one of the colour milk carton templates on to the front of the sheet

Cut around the edge with scissors then score all the lines on the back  including the dotted ones

You should have something that looks like this

Add some double sided tape to the flap on the left

Tucking the flap which has the tape on behind the opposite edge to join them like this

Fold the bottom flaps in and secure with double sided tape

Then push the sides of the top in and pinch together

When you put your treats inside you will need something to hold the top closed
You can make two holes and thread ribbon through but I think these mini binder clips work well

You can of course print the milk carton template on the back of any patterned paper and follow the instructions above as I have done here

Add a few bits of embellishment and here you are!

Let's Hear It For The Boys - challenge 100

It's Challenge day over at A Gem of a Challenge and can you believe it is our 100th challenge!
The bad news is it's our lovely Mandy's last day as challenge coordinator. We will miss her soooo much as she has been invaluble at PGD the last few years.
The good news is our dear friend DT Christine (aka Nanaseaside) is taking over the running of the challenge for us!
It is also Annette's debut as a permanent member of our team!
The theme 'Let's Hear it for the Boys' has been set by the very talented Donna

Here is my take on the theme and I have used the lovely new Batty Digi Set  and Batty Papers that have just been released in time for Halloween

You can find the digi set here and the papers here
