Crackle Paint Embellishments

A few people have asked me how I made the 'Crackle Embellishments' on my two latest cards
So I will try and explain how I do it

I bought some Tim holtz 'Crackle Paint' the other day just to have a dabble and I am so pleased I did!

Here are the other things I use

First of all I cut three shapes out of card
You can see I have used 'Shapeabilities Butterlies 2'
You can find these here
These are just ideal as they are solid shapes with no holes
I glue the three shapes together with 'Anita's Tacky Glue' and leave to dry
Now here is the secret cover the whole shape with 'Glossy Accents' and leave to set solid (takes a few hours)
I discovered this bit by accident!
At first I  covered my heart with the crackle paint without glossy accents.....although it did crackle it didn't have the effect that the ones on my cards have......the cracks were small and fine
I was still quite pleased but decided to give the heart a glossy appearance too
Big mistake! The cracks filled with the gloss and I was left with a pink glossy heart
So I thought I wonder what will happen if I paint back over the heart with the crackle paint
Wow the cracks opened wide and gave the effects you can see on my cards.....the paint glided over the slippy surface as it dried creating the large cracks!
So that is now why I cover my shapes with the glossy first
The Crackle Paint dries in no time and you can see the cracks appear more or less in front of your eyes
Don't be afraid to wallop plenty of it on to your shape either because the thicker  the paint the larger the cracks

Here is a butterfly I made earlier

You can also sponge some distress ink around the edges to add some dimension

Now I just NEED  more colours in the 'Crackle Paint'!

Weight Watching!

Why can't I eat what I want and not put on weight!
I need to lose at least a stone before summer arrives or all my clothes will be too tight
I am thinking of joining weight watchers online
I have been to meetings in the past and enjoyed following the programme
Hubby says I can do it on my own which I suppose he is right in theory
I know what to eat and not to but I need motivation
Haven't really got time for meetings and as I am on the computer working all day I thought the online option would be good
Has anyone else followed WW Online......it would be interesting to hear your views so please leave me a comment
........oh and if anyone knows how to make a stone in weight instantly dissapear please let me know lol!
Hubby has bought me an X Box Kinect as it's my birthday this month .......so we can both get fit
It's not set up yet but it looks like fun!

What Are Little Boys Made Of ????

'Slugs n' Snails' n' Puppy Dogs Tails!'
I loved that rhyme when I was a child
It has inspired my 'Andy with Snail' stamp design and my latest download papers 'Slugs & Snails'
I hate making cards for little boys as the papers always seem drab and boring
So I came up with these bright and cheery little boy papers and even though I say so myself they are just fab to work with!

Stamp 'Andy With Snail' Here
Sentiment Stamp 'Puppy Dogs Tails' Here
DP downloadable digi papers 'Slugs & Snails' Here (also soon to be on DVD)

Ellie & Ginger

It's little Miss Ellie again but this time she has her hair swept up in bunches and she is eating a gingerbread man!
The reason I drew this stamp design is because my 3 year old (4 next month yikes......where did that go!) grandaughter Mimi loves gingerbread men
She was also wearing an outfit like this when she last stayed with us.........so you can see where I get my influence from lol!
I bought her The Gingerbread Man book which I had to read over and over because she found it so funny lol!

Ellie has been coloured with Copics & Prisma Pencils

Stamp 'Ellie with Gingerbread' Here
Sentiment Stamp 'Birthday wishes' Here
DP download Digi Papers 'Oh Boy' Here
Ink Memento 'Rich Cocoa' Here
